2009 (hair collected between 2006-2007)
39 hand engraved glass jars with cork stoppers, human hair.
|For 12 months, I collected the knots of hair out of the hairbrush I was sharing with my lover, storing it in white envelopes and marking them with a date. Fair hair and dark intertwined in an intimate conjoining of male and female. When we were apart, I continued my quiet hoarding alone. The private process was a physical expression of love and longing, using threads of tangled hair to articulate the coming together of two bodies and the passing of shared time.|
